Pactola Lake

We decided to go to the pool today because it was sooooo hot.  But the pool was so crowded and luckily our friends have a pontoon on Pactola Lake so we headed there instead.  Unfortunately we ended up getting stranded on the lake when the pontoon broke down, but we were rescued after about 45 min.

South Dakota Weather

Lex and Dad left for a fathers and sons campout, about 30 mins later we got hit with a violent storm with wind hail and a downpour.  Needless to say,  the boys were hit too.  This is a view from our front window.  Below is the view out our back sliding door.  To make matters worse, our girls night movie was ruined when we lost power from 7 til 12.

The next morning our garden looks hammered.

Saturday night we were hit with a less violent storm overall, but the hail was much worse.  Lex collected some at the start, about five minutes later he ran out and got some more.  While he was out there the got welts on his arms from being hit by the stones.  We were the lucky ones, about 10 miles east they say tennis ball sized hail stones.

Father's Day

Breakfast in bed couldn't get any better, until dad got his present.  A nose hair trimmer.  He also got $ toward his gun.

Little Lex's blunders

Lex decided to ride down the hill on his wiggle car,  usually a very fun activity that everyone enjoys. The only problem is Lex didn't wear any shoes.  His big toe paid the price.  The next day he cut his thumb with a pocket knife deep enough  that he probably needed stitches, but nurse mom and doctor dad fixed him up just fine.  On the third day he crashed on his bike and got a big bruise and scratch on his stomach.  However since then he has survived so hopefully he has learned some lessons.
